Tropicool 3 Slot
Tropicool 3 drifts the birds' glacier to an ice-bound ancient Egypt and gives Elmo a destination: when he reaches the leftmost column, the entire COOL Reel falls into the grid. Rolling symbols and a global multiplier fed by that reel do the rest.
Tropicool 3 Demo
Follow Elmo as he moves towards column one, since a bottom-row Elmo in columns 2 to 6 gets removed and dropped again one column further left. Watch the multiplier too, which only rises when a Multiplier Symbol falls from the COOL Reel.
What makes Tropicool 3 different from the earlier games
Of the first three games, only this one is built on rolling symbols. After a win, everything rolls left and right as far down as it can, which gives it more in common with Cygnus than with its predecessors, and the big symbols and scatter birds of the second game are gone from the rules. ELK Studios released it in April 2024, still on a 6×6 grid with 46,656 ways.
The birds survive as story: they exhaust their island, float off on a glacier and bring a new ice age to ancient Egypt.

A 28.0% hit frequency is the highest of the first three Tropicool games, but volatility is also the highest at 8 of 10, which points to frequent small wins and a top-heavy return. The 94.0% RTP is a long-run theoretical figure, not a session forecast.
Rolling symbols and reel drops in a single round
Each win pays and explodes, apart from Locked Wilds with charge left. The survivors drop, the first row of the COOL Reel empties down into the winning columns, and all symbols roll left and right as far downwards as possible. The COOL Reel then refills from the right, and new wins repeat the loop.
Lines read from the leftmost reel with no gaps. Once an avalanche stops, the game works through Mystery symbols, then Row Swaps, then Bonus triggers. Since the rules list Bonus symbols among the COOL Reel's contents, a drop from above can contribute to the three needed.
COOL Reel, Elmo and the global multiplier
The reel above the grid feeds almost everything here.
COOL Reel
Three levels of feature symbols, Bonus symbols and empty symbols sit above the grid. Each win triggers a drop from the first level only, over the winning columns, and features activate once they land. Gravity pulls the upper levels down and new symbols slide in from the right. A sequence of wins works through the reel one level at a time, unless Elmo intervenes.
Elmo's Revenge
When the Elmo symbol reaches the leftmost column, the complete COOL Reel drops into the main grid. That can mean several features at once, including any Multiplier Symbols waiting on the higher levels. An Elmo stranded at the bottom of columns 2 to 6 is removed and dropped again one column further left, if possible. His old bird-scaring and redrops do not appear in these rules.
Global multiplier
Multiplier Symbols add x1, x2, x3, x5, x10 or x25 to the win multiplier when they drop from the COOL Reel, and the total applies to all win combinations. The count starts at x1 and grows by addition, so an x25 symbol has far more impact on a low total than a high one. During the bonus it is sticky between free drops, which gives it room to build.
Locked Wild, Mystery and Row Swap
A Locked Wild lasts for 3 wins and stays on the grid between free drops until used. Mystery symbols all reveal one paying symbol or a Wild when a drop has no wins left, which can restart the avalanche. Row Swap converts a line to one paying symbol. A second Row Swap on that line extends the change to its column, and conflicting positions become Wilds.
Bonus game
Three or more Bonus symbols at the end of a symbol drop award free drops: 6 for three, 9 for four, 12 for five and 15 for six. Extra Drops symbols join the COOL Reel during the round, adding 1, 2 or 3 more. The grid starts fresh and the reel is repopulated for each free drop, while the win multiplier and any unused Locked Wilds carry over.
Super Bonus
This version triggers when three or more Bonus symbols appear together with the Elmo symbol in the main grid. One Elmo is then always in view, and he stays sticky between free drops. The rules leave the consequences unstated beyond that, but Elmo is the symbol that empties the COOL Reel on reaching the leftmost column, so that is the interaction to watch.
X-iter modes and prices
Five modes run from 3x to 500x the selected bet, each started from the base game. Elmo's Revenge is the one to read closely: the rules guarantee the symbol, and the full COOL Reel drop still depends on him reaching the leftmost column.
| Mode | Cost | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Bonus Hunt | 3x | More than triple the chance of triggering the bonus game, for one round. |
| Locked Wilds | 25x | Starts the round with 3 Locked Wilds falling into the grid. |
| Elmo's Revenge | 50x | A round with a guaranteed Elmo symbol. |
| Buy Bonus | 100x | A round that triggers the bonus game. |
| Super Bonus | 500x | Triggers the bonus game with a guaranteed Elmo symbol in view. |
X-iter is not available in all markets.
The 25,000x cap and 94.0% RTP in Tropicool 3
Reaching 25,000x ends the round immediately, and the data sheet's €2,500,000 max exposure reflects it at the €100 maximum bet. The rules panel lists the probability of hitting the cap when the game loads.
Multiplier Symbols worth up to x25 and a bonus multiplier that persists through every free drop explain the top-heavy profile. Over a long sample, 72 rounds in 100 pay nothing. Stakes run from €0.20 to €100.

How this game fits into the series
The first Tropicool and Tropicool 2 both keep symbols falling straight down, and the second adds the three-row reel and Elmo's walk. This game keeps the three levels, moves to rolling symbols and turns Elmo into a trigger. Volatility climbs to 8 of 10 while the 25,000x cap stays level with the second game. Tropicool 4 and 5 came later, and this site has yet to cover them.
Tropicool 3 pros and cons
What works
- Elmo's Revenge can drop the entire three-level COOL Reel in one go
- Multiplier Symbols add up to x25 to a global multiplier
- 28.0% hit frequency, the highest of the first three Tropicool games
- Bonus multiplier and unused Locked Wilds carry across free drops
What to watch
- 8 of 10 volatility, the highest of the first three games, so results swing harder
- The Elmo's Revenge buy guarantees the symbol, not that it reaches column one
- Fans of scatter birds and Elmo's redrops will miss them, as the rules have neither
- 94.0% RTP, below the 95.0% of the original
Who Tropicool 3 is best for
Players who liked the feature reel but found big symbols and bird maths fussy should get on better here, since the action is easier to read: watch Elmo, watch the multiplier. Volatility of 8 of 10 also asks for a budget that can absorb quiet stretches. Anyone attached to Elmo's original walk should stay with Tropicool 2.
