Tropicool 2 Slot
Tropicool 2 stacks its feature reel three rows high and adds a furious sloth who walks across the grid turning birds into wilds. The payouts get stranger too, as big symbols count as several regular ones and bird heights multiply together.
Tropicool 2 Demo
Check what each of the three Cool Reel rows holds, since ice cubes and empty cells act as spacers and only feature symbols do anything. Try to catch Elmo landing at 1×1, because he stays inactive until there is room to grow to 1×2.
What the sequel adds to the frozen-bird formula
Most of the extra depth sits in the reel above the grid. The Cool Reel now has three rows of feature symbols, ice cubes and empty cells, and its contents include Mystery symbols and big blocks that the first game's rules never mention. ELK Studios released it in February 2023 on the same 6×6 grid with 46,656 ways.
The plot gives Elmo a reason to exist. Belle the Flamingo and Emerson the Toucan have moved onto his beach for good, he cannot stand birds, and the mechanics follow the joke.

The 94.0% RTP is a long-run theoretical figure, one point below the original, while the cap rises from 10,000x to 25,000x. A 24.9% hit frequency at 7 of 10 volatility leaves 75.1% of rounds empty over time.
How the avalanche runs in Tropicool 2
A round starts with new symbols in the grid and feature symbols sliding into the Cool Reel from the right. Wins pay from the leftmost reel, then explode, except for Locked Wilds with charge left. Surviving symbols drop, anything on the Cool Reel above an empty cell comes down, and both areas refill. New wins repeat the process.
Order matters at the end. When no wins remain, Mystery symbols reveal first, Row Swaps fire next and Bonus triggers come last, so a Mystery reveal can restart the avalanche before a Row Swap has even acted.
Features worth understanding before you play
Several of these systems interact.
Triple Cool Reel
Three rows sit above the grid, and features only become active once they drop into the main area. Ice cubes are spacers, so a tall reel is less generous than it first looks. A big feature symbol that cannot drop whole splits into regular symbols, some of which can still fall. Refills arrive from the right and push everything left, so the contents above a column keep changing.
Big symbols
Paying and feature symbols can appear as 2×2 or 3×3 blocks, apart from Elmo, birds and Bonus symbols. A big paying symbol counts as the regular symbols it covers, so 4 for a 2×2 and 9 for a 3×3. A falling block crushes ordinary paying symbols underneath and only stops at feature or other big symbols. Resting above empty cells, it replicates into 1×1 copies that fill them.
Scatter birds
Birds come in heights from 1 to 6 and ignore paylines: three or more of the same colour anywhere will pay. The payout is the bird's value multiplied by the product of the heights, and the rules' own example uses a value of 0.3 with heights 1, 5 and 3, paying 4.5x the bet. Wilds cannot stand in for birds, and Mystery symbols never reveal them.
Elmo Redrops
Elmo falls from the Cool Reel as an inactive 1×1 or, with room, an active 1×2. Once active he scares birds into Wild or Locked Wild symbols and starts redrops, walking one column right per redrop until he has left the rightmost column. Bonus symbols and Locked Wilds stay put meanwhile. Landing further left means more redrops, so his starting column matters.
Mystery and Row Swap
All Mystery symbols reveal the same paying symbol, never a bird, once a drop has no wins left, and a new win can resume the avalanche. Row Swap then picks one paying symbol on its row and converts the rest, leaving Wilds alone. A second Row Swap on the same row extends the change to its column, and any position claimed by two different swaps becomes a Wild.
Free Drops Bonus Game
Three Bonus symbols award 6 free drops, four give 9, five give 12 and six give 15, all starting at an x1 Win Multiplier. Two extra symbols appear on the Cool Reel here: Extra Drops adds 1, 2 or 3 drops, and Win Multiplier adds x1, x2 or x3. The multiplier persists, and Locked Wilds stay on the grid until they are used up.
Tropicool 2 X-iter: the menu and the cost of each mode
The product sheet shows five modes from 10x to 500x the bet, all bought from the base game. The rules also describe a Locked Wilds buy giving 3 Locked Wilds in the first drop, sharing a cost slot with Turbo Spins, so check which one your menu shows.
| Mode | Cost | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Big Blocks | 10x | One round with a guaranteed big symbol in the main grid and in the Cool Reel. |
| Turbo Spins | 25x | 25 faster spins in one purchase, so the price matches 25 ordinary bets. |
| Elmo | 50x | A round with guaranteed Elmo Redrops. |
| Buy Bonus | 100x | Triggers the bonus game, starting at the normal x1. |
| Super Bonus | 500x | Triggers the bonus game with an x10 starting multiplier. |
Not every market offers X-iter.
25,000x, 94.0% RTP and what they imply
A round ends immediately if it reaches the 25,000x cap, and the €2,500,000 max exposure on the product sheet is what that works out to at a €100 bet. The rules panel shows the actual probability of hitting it when the game loads.
Volatility is 7 of 10, one step below Tropicool 3, and the 24.9% hit rate sits between the first game's 23.1% and the third's 28.0%. Big symbols, bird heights and a persistent bonus multiplier all scale wins sharply, so results will spread widely around that 94.0%.

Between the original and Tropicool 3
Against the first Tropicool, this game trades Multiplier Wilds for Mystery symbols, adds big symbols and Elmo, and shortens the bonus table from a 10-drop start to a 6-drop start. Tropicool 3 keeps the three levels of reel, drops big symbols and scatter birds in favour of rolling symbols, and makes Elmo a trigger at the leftmost column.
Tropicool 2 pros and cons
What works
- Three-row Cool Reel holds more waiting features than the first game's single row
- Elmo Redrops can turn a bird-heavy grid into Wilds or Locked Wilds
- Big symbols count as 4 or 9 regular symbols
- Bird payouts multiply by height, so scatter wins can jump sharply
- Cap of 25,000x, two and a half times the original
What to watch
- 94.0% RTP, below the 95.0% of the first game
- A lot to follow: crushing, splitting, replication and Row Swap conflicts all have separate rules
- Ice cubes and empty cells mean the tall reel holds fewer features than its size suggests
- Three Bonus symbols give 6 free drops, fewer than the original's 10
Who should play Tropicool 2
Play this one if you enjoy a busy screen and like knowing why something just happened: much of the appeal is how the systems collide. Skip it if you want a plainer game, where the original is easier to follow, or if an RTP of 94.0% is lower than you are willing to accept.
Tropicool 2 questions answered
What is the RTP of Tropicool 2?
The sheets list 94.0%. That describes theoretical returns across a huge number of rounds, not what any one session will do.
What is the biggest possible win in Tropicool 2?
A game round is capped at 25,000x the placed bet, after which it ends and pays what was collected. The rules panel shows the probability of reaching that cap.
Does Tropicool 2 have a free demo?
Yes. The play-money demo here is a sensible place to learn the Cool Reel and big-symbol rules.
How do the free drops start in Tropicool 2?
Three or more Bonus symbols anywhere on the grid at the end of a symbol drop trigger them, awarding 6, 9, 12 or 15 free drops. Where X-iter is offered, 100x or 500x buys entry.
What does Elmo do in Tropicool 2?
When active, he turns birds into Wild or Locked Wild symbols and triggers redrops, moving one column right each time. The redrops last until he walks off the rightmost column.
