Pirots Slot
Pirots swaps reels and paylines for four parrots that walk the grid and collect gems of their own colour, paying for each one they reach. It is the simplest of the numbered games and the template for every sequel.
Pirots Demo
Pick one bird and trace its route: it steps up, down, left or right onto its own colour, and stops once nothing next to it can be taken. Then watch the meter above the grid, because a full bar turns three gems into feature symbols.
What makes Pirots different from a normal slot
Wins in Pirots come from collecting, with no paylines, ways or clusters to line up. Four birds sit on a 5×5 grid among gems in four colours, and each bird pays out every matching gem it can walk to. ELK launched the system in February 2023 under the name CollectR, and every numbered sequel has kept it.
Pirate parrots who have outlived their captains supply the comedy. Underneath sit three linked systems: a ladder of gem levels, a collection meter and a grid that grows when bombs explode.

A 26.8% hit frequency means about one round in four returns something, while volatility of 7 out of 10 says most of the value sits in the rarer rounds where gem levels and grid size have climbed. Over a very long run the theoretical return is 94.0%, X-iter modes included.
How CollectR pays, step by step
Each gem pays its current value when its own bird collects it, and there is no minimum group to reach. ELK's summary is that the quantity does not matter: if the colours match, it is a win. Birds move only horizontally or vertically, so a matching gem sitting diagonally stays put unless another route opens.
Any bird can also take any feature symbol it reaches. Normal-mode drops all start at win level 1, and upgrades can raise a colour as far as level 5. When no wins remain, adjacent birds may swap places in a Switcheroo if that could create a new win, and any collected bomb goes off.
Feature symbols and the free drops bonus
Pirots has six feature symbols: wilds, transforms, upgrades, coins, bombs and bonus symbols. The collection meter adds more of them during a round, so it comes first.
Symbol collection meter
The bar above the grid fills with everything a bird picks up, bonus symbols excepted. Filling it triggers a feature award: three gems turn into feature symbols once the birds can collect nothing further. Awards can accumulate during a long round and land together, so one busy drop can seed the board with several new symbols. Progress on the meter also survives through free drops.
Upgrade symbols
Gems top out at win level 5. A white upgrade lifts the collecting bird's colour by 1 to 3 steps, and if that colour is already at the top, another random gem benefits instead. The multicoloured version lifts all four colours by the same range. Normal-mode drops begin again at level 1, so an upgrade is a short-term boost there and a lasting one during free drops.
Transform symbol
A collected transform either recolours a cluster of gems around it to match the bird that took it, or turns that cluster into a random number of feature symbols. Recolouring gives the bird a longer route straight away, since its own colour now surrounds it. It pairs well with a recent upgrade on the same colour, because every converted gem then pays at the higher level.
Bomb and grid expansion
A collected bomb waits until no wins remain in view, then explodes. It clears nearby symbols other than feature symbols and lifts the birds off the grid, and they return from their nests in new positions as fresh symbols drop in. The blast also expands the grid, up to the 8×8 maximum, which puts more gems in play and gives the birds more room to find connected routes.
Wilds and coins
A wild substitutes for any gem at that gem's current win level, so its worth rises with every upgrade. A coin ignores levels altogether and pays its value times the active bet when collected. Both count as paying symbols, and any bird can take either, which means they can also carry a bird across to more gems of its own colour.
Free drops bonus game
Three bonus symbols in one game round award 5 free drops, starting at whatever grid size the round had reached. Grid size, meter progress and gem levels all persist between drops, so progress builds instead of resetting. Three more bonus symbols add further free drops, and winnings are paid when the mode ends. A bonus reached on a small grid has further to climb than one triggered after a couple of bombs.
X-iter modes in Pirots and what they cost
Five modes run from 3x to 500x the bet, activated from the base game only. The rules list the same theoretical RTP for all of them, so the price buys a different risk profile and no extra return.
| Mode | Cost | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Bonus Hunt | 3x | One drop with more than four times the usual chance of triggering the bonus game. |
| Feature Bonanza | 10x | One drop with a guaranteed full symbol collection and feature award. |
| Maximum Grid Size | 25x | One drop played on the full 8×8 grid. |
| Bonus | 100x | A game round with guaranteed entry to the bonus game. |
| Super Bonus | 500x | Guarantees the super bonus game, with free drops on the maximum grid and upgrades lifting all gems. |
X-iter is not available in every market.
What the numbers mean in play
The 10,000x figure is a hard cap: a round ends the moment it is reached, and wins so far are paid out. At the €0.20 minimum bet that is €2,000, and at the €100 maximum it equals the €1,000,000 exposure on ELK's product sheet. The in-game rules state the probability of hitting it, which is the line to read before taking the headline seriously.
At 94.0%, the long-run expectation is a loss of 6% of total stakes, and short sessions can land a long way either side of that.

How the later Pirots games built on this one
Every numbered sequel keeps CollectR and changes what surrounds it. Pirots 2 moved to a 6×6 start, extended the ladder to 7 levels and narrowed the meter to gems and wilds. Pirots 3 added a bandit, train heists and a coin game, while Pirots 4 and Pirots 5 split into selectable worlds. Pirots X, a cluster game from October 2024, drops CollectR altogether and is not covered on this site yet.
Pirots pros and cons
What works
- Very quick to read: a matching gem next to its bird pays, with no minimum group.
- At 26.8%, the highest hit frequency of the five numbered games.
- Six feature symbols, the shortest list of the numbered games.
- Grid size, meter and gem levels all persist through free drops.
What to watch
- Each base-game drop restarts at 5×5 with level 1 gems, so nothing carries between rounds.
- Gems stop at level 5, two steps short of the sequels' ladder.
- A bird hemmed in by other colours stops quickly, so small pickups are common.
Who should play this one, and who should skip it
Pirots suits anyone who wants to learn CollectR without the traps, portals and boss fights of the later games, and who accepts volatility of 7 out of 10. Skip it if you want a crowded feature set from the first drop, since the sequels pack more into each round.
Pirots questions answered
What is the RTP of Pirots?
ELK lists 94.0%, and the rules give X-iter modes the same figure. It is a long-run theoretical number, so one session can finish far from it.
What is the maximum win in Pirots?
Payouts stop at 10,000x the bet, with the round ending immediately at that point. Most rounds finish nowhere near it.
Can I play Pirots for free?
Yes, the game has a demo mode that runs on play money. Nothing won in it can be withdrawn.
How do I trigger the Pirots bonus?
The birds must collect three bonus symbols during one game round, which awards 5 free drops.
What is CollectR?
It is the pay system ELK introduced with Pirots. Each bird walks to adjacent gems of its own colour, and every gem collected pays at its current level.
